I am currently studying Music and Sound Recording BA(Hons) at the University of York, where I have achieved a first class average so far in my studies, and recieved the SSL Essential Prize for the best performing first year student in individual components of the Music and Sound Recording core modules.

EXPERIENCE

I am currently employed at Tesla Studios as a Trainee Sound Engineer and have an upcoming role as Trainee Sound Engineer at Mu Studios beginning in April. My current role involves engineering recording sessions for clients and assisting producer and engineer David Glover in engineering, mixing and mastering. I am also employed as the Peer Learning Support Leader for the University of York Music Department. PREVIOUS

AV Technician | University of York Music Society | April 2021 - April 2022
● Leading a team of assistant technicians to put on twice weekly concerts within the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall as well as other events and recording sessions within the university’s Music Society.
Sound Operator | University of York Technical Theatre Society | September 2021 - June 2022
● Operating live sound for a number of theatrical performances within professional venues, such as 9 to 5 the Musical at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre.
Audio Technician | Thomas Rotherham College | 2019-2020
● Lead audio technician for the yearly college production, working with a small team for several weeks, operating the live sound for both rehearsals and show nights.

SKILLS
Specialist technical audio/music skills
● Proficient in the use of specialist music production software: Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Cubase and Cockos Reaper.
● Experience within a studio environment with training on large scale mixing consoles such as the SSL Duality Delta and Audient ASP 4816 as well as a wide range of microphones and outboard equipment. Practised in utilising patch bay systems.
● Confident in Live Sound environments with training on consoles such as the Yamaha LS9 and the Allen and Heath SQ-5, and experience with patching, PA systems and monitoring systems.
IT Skills
● Competent in creative coding using JavaScript, experienced in producing websites and progressive web applications.
● Capable in word processing and spreadsheet software as well as collaboration and communication software.
● Fundamental knowledge of computer hardware and software and most operating systems with the ability to troubleshoot independently.
Soft Skills
● Due to experience in a range of roles, great organisation, leadership, teamwork and people skills, with the ability to be empathetic towards peers and flexible in any situation.
Determined, punctual, and approachable.

I also enjoy photography and graphic design. I am the official photographer for Langwith Women’s Football and do paid photography gigs for University Societies in York and Leeds. I also design marketing material, social media content and build websites - including this one!

Apricot Collective is a music and recording collective founded by myself and two peers from the music and sound recording BA. We are a coming together of creatives to drive music creation and forge a platform for independent artists, producers and engineers. From production and marketing to live promotion, events and networking, our goal is to keep independent artists in mind, with our team offering a wide range of talents to allow for the assembly and distribution of independent music.
